Five years ago as a junior in high school I got involved in playing the sport of Ultimate, or more commonly referred to improperly as Ultimate Frisbee. Sense then my interest in the sport has only continued to grow. Not only has my interest in the sport grown but the overall popularity of the sport has exploded over the past several years.
Yet still for the most part the sport remains relatively unknown to a mainstream audience. Many people’s experiences with Ultimate are limited to brief sessions from various physical education classes, but that does not get a proper or accurate representation of what the sport is truly about.
A sport founded in teamwork and spirit of the game Ultimate is truly unique and deserves more than it receives. High Release is a blog dedicated to the spread of information pertaining to Ultimate. To gain a greater understanding and learn about what makes it such a fun and interesting sport.
High Release is a term in Ultimate that refers to a throw done from shoulder level or higher making it a very difficult throw to block, but equally hard to throw.
